Kayla is a product of the NCHSAA as both an athlete and intern. Born and raised in Chapel Hill, NC, she attended East Chapel Hill High School where she lettered in volleyball. She continued her playing career at Division II Rollins College, where she received her degree in Psychology and Communications. After an internship with the Division II Sunshine State Conference, Kayla wanted to further her career and education in athletics.
She attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN where she worked as a graduate assistant for athletic compliance and operations. She interned with the NCHSAA during her master’s program at Ball State and obtained her Master’s in Sports Administration in December 2014. To get out of the Midwest cold, Kayla returned to North Carolina working for Fleet Feet, Incorporated in the marketing and development department. She joined the staff at the NCHSAA in August 2016.
Kayla currently resides in Chapel Hill and continues to play volleyball in various leagues throughout the triangle area. She also loves coaching at a local volleyball club, working out and spending time outdoors.
