A Weddington High School women’s basketball standout has achieved one of the rarest of hoop feats—again—for entry in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record book.
Stephanie Watts had a quadruple double last week in a big win over Marvin Ridge. She poured in 35 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, handed out 10 assists and had 11 steals to lead her team to a 72-23 victory.
It is the third time in her career that Watts had recorded a quadruple double and only the fourth one listed in the NCHSAA women’s basketball record book. Amanda Sinclair of Red Springs, in 2006, is the only other player with a documented quadruple double.
Congratulations to Stephanie Watts and we thank coach Ryun Cook for providing complete documentation.
