BURLINGTON– Cummings High School has inducted its most successful boys’ track and field performer and one of the assistant coaches who helped him reach such heights to the school’s Hall of Fame.
According to the Burlington Times-News, the ceremony was held at a recent Cummings football game.
Isaiah Moore, who was a 13-time North Carolina High School Athletic Association state champion in individual events, and assistant track and field coach Thomas Love have joined the Cavaliers Hall of Fame.
Moore, a sophomore at South Carolina, won 12 of his 13 state titles at Cummings after transferring from Williams High School. He was Most Outstanding Performer of all six of the track and field state championship meets — indoor and outdoor — he competed in during his three years at Cummings. He holds school records in six events and scored 190 points in state championships.
Love has served as an assistant coach with the Cummings track and field program since 1994. He has been a part of 22 team championships and has coached 10 all-state athletes.
