Wilson Stepping Down At Polk County

TRYON—Polk County High School’s Jeff Wilson is stepping down as the school’s softball coach, according to a report in the Asheville Citizen-Times.

Wilson has been very successful in that sport, coaching 19 seasons and recording 353 career victories.  His Polk County team reached the third round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association playoffs this spring and won the Western Highlands Conference championship, posting a 21-4 mark.

Wilson had earlier resigned as the school’s athletic director, and Brandon Schweitzer is taking over that role.
