North Buncombe High School has named its new softball coach, according to a report in the Asheville Citizen-Times.
John Stafford will guide the North Buncombe program. He replaces Cedrick Alexander, who resigned after four seasons at the helm.
Stafford has coached baseball at several high schools in western North Carolina, most recently coaching the junior varsity team at Marshall.
North Buncombe posted a 7-11 mark a year ago but will be bolstered this season by Monica Taylor, a catcher/shortstop who has already committed to play at UNC Wilmington.
