Glenn softball star Foley enters NCHSAA Record Book

Glenn's senior softball star Karen Foley entered the NCHSAA's Fast-pitch Softball Record Book for several categories as the Bobcats' season came to a close following a 3-1 loss to Mooresville in the first round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

With that loss, Foley's stellar career at the school also concluded, but not before she placed herself in some highly esteemed company. With a senior season batting average of .643 (36 of 56) Foley entered the NCHSAA record book at 12th all-time in the state's history for fast-pitch softball batting average in a single season. Her four-year career average was equally impressive at .498 (129 of 259) and checks in at 14th all-time in the state record book.

Not just a consistent contact hitter, Foley hit 11 homers her junior year, which is tied for 12th place all-time in state fast-pitch history. Her senior season the power trend continued with 10 round-trippers, tied for 18th all-time in the record book. For her four-year career, Foley tagged 30 home runs, putting her in sixth all time for career home runs in the NCHSAA.

Thanks to Glenn High School Softball Head Coach Gary Payne for providing the appropriate documentation and updates for us to be able to include Karen Foley's information in the NCHSAA Record Book. You can view the updated NCHSAA Record Book by visiting the link below.
