East Lincoln WR Cameron Dollar sets NFHS Record vs. Christ the King

DENVER, N.C. – East Lincoln improved to 2-0 with a 69-0 win over Christ the King on Friday night, but the noteworthy happening from the night happened in the first half as Mustang senior wide reciever Cameron Dollar hauled in seven first half touchdown catches, setting a national record for touchdown catches in a single half and an NCHSAA record for touchdown receptions in a single game.

Dollar finished the night at halftime with nine catches for 300 yards and the NFHS record-breaking seven touchdowns, all thrown by sophomore quarterback Marcus Graham. The passes covered spans of 25, 30, 49, 56, 22, 39 and 60 yards respectively.

Dollar's performance pushed him past the 16-year-old mark set by Mario Raley of Independence who caught six touchdowns in a single game from then Patriots quarterback Chris Leak. The receiving yardage on the evening placed Dollar at number six for recieving yards in a single game in NCHSAA History, 60 yards behind current record holder Dakwon Freeman who had 360 yards in a single game for Currituck in 2013.

Thanks to Jack Flagler from the Gaston Gazette for reporting the record and East Lincoln Head Coach Mike Byus for confirming the statistics and record to us.
