#UHCSidelinesHunger Food Drive at the Football State Championships

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) and UnitedHealthcare will bring the #UHCSidelinesHunger Food Drive competition to the 2017 NCHSAA Football State Championships on Saturday December 9, 2017.

Schools participating in the Football State Championship games will compete against each other on the football field and to see whose fans can collect the most non-perishable food items at the State Championship games.

Collections will be made at each entry gate of all four venues by school affiliation. A $500 cash award donated by UnitedHealthcare will be awarded to the school at each of the four (4) championship venues that collects the most food items and donations based on weight and meals provided.

The donated items collected at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem will be picked up for distribution within the community by Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. All donated items collected from Kenan, Carter-Finley and Wallace Wade stadiums will be picked up for distribution by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

The NCHSAA Football State Championships will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, in Winston-Salem at Wake Forest University’s BB&T Field, in Chapel Hill at UNC’s Kenan Stadium, in Raleigh at NC State’s Carter-Finley Stadium and in Durham at Duke’s Wallace Wade Stadium.
