NCHSAA ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH NFHS NETWORK TO PROVIDE COVERAGE OF STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND PLAYOFF EVENTS

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has signed an agreement with the NFHS Network to produce and distribute coverage of NCHSAA State Championship and playoff events.

The agreement is for five years, with an automatic renewal for an additional five years should certain conditions within the agreement be met. The Network is expected to provide live streaming coverage through their online subscription platform of NCHSAA playoffs and championships. Fans can expect to find contests ranging from football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, track, baseball, softball and more.

NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker said, “It is an exciting opportunity for us to complement current deals in place for championship and playoff video coverage through this agreement with the NFHS Network.” She continued, “We believe our championship events are exceptional and deserve the full-scale coverage that the NFHS Network has to offer.”

One of the exciting features of the NFHS Network is the incorporation of School Broadcast Programs into the fabric of the Network. These programs bring the excitement and passion of high school sports to life through the hard work of student broadcasters. Schools participating in the NFHS Network are able to live stream playoff events without a charge for their school’s games.

NFHS Network CEO Mark Koski noted, “We are thrilled to add the NCHSAA to the family of our other 44 state associations participating in the NFHS Network. We look forward to the Network being able to provide students, schools and fans with great stories and contests during NCHSAA playoff seasons.”

Commissioner Tucker highlighted the School Broadcast Program saying, “The Network provides a great opportunity for schools in North Carolina to provide their students educational opportunities in the field of broadcast media while offering an opportunity for the school to gain revenue through selling subscriptions to the Network. It is a win-win for schools across the state.”

The Network’s first scheduled State Championship event in North Carolina will be Saturday, November 4th as the Network produces coverage of all four NCHSAA State Volleyball Championships. A full schedule of Network State Championship coverage will be released at a later date.
