The NCHSAA Board of Directors approved the allowance of live television broadcasts, in all sports, for the 2017-18 academic year. Stations interested in broadcasting a contest live should contact the NCHSAA to find out the availability of a contest and the rate for rights fees.
The Board of Directors also approved a required minimum fee for the for the rights to broadcast via a live internet video stream any NCHSAA Contest. The host school is required to collect at least the minimum fee for the contest during the regular season as required by the NCHSAA Handbook, however, they may ask for higher than the minimum amount and are not obligated to accept or approve requests for video broadcasts during the regular season. Any internet stream(s) lasting more than 5 minutes in duration from a single game constitutes broadcast of a full contest and and is subject to payment of the appropriate fee for the contest.
