Assistant to the Supervisor of Officials
Caitlin McMannen, Assistant to the Supervisor of Officials, is a native of Durham, NC. She joined the NCHSAA staff in May of 2017 after completing an internship at the Association during the spring of 2017 and earning her Master of Science degree in Sport Administration, with Distinctive Honors, from Liberty University. She also obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Liberty in May of 2015. Ms. McMannen was a graduate assistant to the Chair of Sport Management graduate studies during the 2015 through 2017 academic years.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Ms. McMannen completed internships as the Head Basketball coach for Timberlake Academy girls’ middle school basketball team in Virginia, assisted with their girls’ soccer team, and worked a summer internship in 2014 with the Head of Strength and Conditioning Training at North Carolina Central University in Durham.
Ms. McMannen attended Riverside High School where she was a two-sport student athlete. She was an All-Conference PAC 6 Four-Year Varsity starter on the women’s basketball team, and also a starter on the women’s varsity soccer team, who advanced to the state playoffs for the first time in the school’s history during her junior year. Her love for sports started at a very young age and she participated on several local club soccer teams and Amateur Athletic Union basketball teams. Her Triangle United club soccer team won two consecutive state cups, and her Hoops City U basketball team participated in state and national tournaments all over the southeast. During her time at Liberty, she participated year-round in the intramural sports program playing on indoor and outdoor soccer teams, basketball, flag football, and softball teams. She won the annual 3-point shooting contest several times while there.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, tennis, going to the beach, and watching any UNC Tar Heel sporting event. She has a 120 pound Weimaraner at home named Bentley who she loves taking for walks.
