Who can Participate

Any athletic team or cheerleading squad at an NCHSAA member school with a sponsor. Sponsors may be a coach, faculty member, staff member, or parent!

Ideally, two teams or schools from each classification (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A) will be awarded the NCHSAA Commissioner’s Trophy at the NCHSAA Annual Awards celebration (date/time TBD). If submissions are not received from all eight regions, multiple projects within a region may be considered for the Trophy award. Each will receive a $1,000 stipend for their respective team or school athletic program, earmarked for that sports team.

How to Participate

Requirements

1. The team sponsor initiates the online application. The application will remain “open” for edits until April 10, 2024.
2. The team identifies a need within the school’s community and plans to conduct the service project.
3. The team creates and submits a 1 to 2-minute video of the identified project and submits it in .mp4 or .mov format.

The video will be too large to submit via email, so we suggest submitting the video via WeTransfer, Dropbox or GoogleDrive to karen@nchsaa.org by the established deadline.

Note: Team may need to create an account/password to access file-sharing software. Once an account is established, a team member must upload the service project video and indicate to share the video file with karen@nchsaa.org.
