1A EAST GIRLS REGIONAL FINAL: Plymouth dominates the glass, defeats Roxboro Community 50-37

PLYMOUTH DOMINATES THE GLASS, DEFEATS ROXBORO COMMUNITY 50-37

Plymouth’s women’s basketball team will make their first appearance in an NCHSAA State Championship game after knocking off Roxboro Community 50-37.

The Vikings jumped out to an early lead, holding a 14-11 advantage after one quarter of play. They won each quarter en route to the victory.

Plymouth was dominant on the glass as junior Brittany Franklin snatched down 25 rebounds, 9 of them offensive. She added 19 points, shooting 11 of 11 from the free throw line. Her senior teammate Marsaedees Carter pulled down 14 rebounds with eight points.  The Vikings won the battle for the glass 52-41.

Roxboro Community struggled to get any offense going unless it was coming from Elana Ingram. Ingram finished the game with 25 points and 11 rebounds. She was the only Bulldog in double-figures scoring.
