CHAPEL HILL— Jeremiah Alford from North Rowan High School and Khamoni Robinson from Monroe High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators.
Alford, a Freshman on the North Rowan Football team, carried the ball 35 times for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns on Saturday. Alford also threw for 83 yards and a touchdown as North Rowan beat Thomas Jefferson 34-28.
Robinson, a Junior on the Monroe Football team, completed 18 of 23 passes for 387 yards and 7 touchdowns. His 7 touchdown passes tied the Union County record for most in a single game. Monroe beat Robinson 60-29.
Weekly recipients will be recognized on the NCHSAA Website and social media pages. The deadline for nominations is each Monday at 5 p.m through the online form that can be found here.
