2021-2022 WEEK 4 | Performance of the Week, Powered by OrthoCarolina

CHAPEL HILL— Caroline Murrell from Northwood High School and Reggie Taylor II from Mountain Island Charter have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators. 

Murrell, a Senior on the Northwood Cross Country team, won the Friday Night Lights Championship Divison 5K in Kernersville last week.  Her 5000m time of 17:55.66 is a personal best and currently ranks as the fastest time in North Carolina and 49th fastest in the country.

Taylor, a Senior on the Mountain Island Charter Football team, broke the Gaston County single game receiving yard record Friday night.  Taylor finished the game with 6 receptions for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Raptors beat Union Academy.
