RALEIGH—Ben Kolstad has been named the new head football coach at Sanderson High School, according to various media reports including HighSchoolOT.com.

Kolstad had previously been head coach at Cary and had recently resigned from that position.

Kolstad has guided the Imps’ program since 2004, and his teams had put together a record of 65-46, including appearances in the NCHSAA playoffs nine times.

Sanderson was 2-9 last year and has not qualified for the NCHSAA football playoffs since 2008.
