CONCORD QUARTERBACK EARNS WAY INTO NCHSAA RECORD BOOK
CONCORD— Concord quarterback B.J. Beecher, who led the Spiders into the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 3-A football championship game in 2012, has earned several performance listings in the NCHSAA Record Book, including a number of career marks.
Beecher finished his four-year career at Concord with 10,778 yards, good for fourth place all-time among NCHSAA passers. His 4,129 yards passing for the 2012 season is ninth on the single season list.
The Spider quarterback threw for 122 touchdowns for his career, which is third all-time, including 50 scoring tosses this season. His career touchdown responsibility put him fourth in that category, with his 122 TD passes combining with 10 rushing touchdowns for a total of 132.
He completed 656 passes during his career, good for fourth all-time, and his 1,145 attempts for his four season ranks fifth.
His biggest single game this season came on August 17, as he threw for seven touchdowns and 457 yards in a 62-35 victory over West Charlotte.
Concord lost to Havelock in the NCHSAA state 3-A football title game.
