On Monday December 31, 2012 the Bishop McGuinness Boys Basketball team spent the day volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Winston Salem, North
Carolina. The team helped with the luminary project, partnering with several other community groups such as church youth groups and civic organizations.
During their time, the Bishop Boys helped break down and store over 1000 of the luminaries that are used each year as a fundraiser to help families and children in need as an outreach of the Ronald McDonald charities.
The Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem provides a “home away from home” for families of children who are receiving medical care in our community’s hospitals. The House and Family Room programs offer physical comforts, emotional support, education, and referral services designed to promote the well-being of the whole family.
