Wakefield Qb Has Another Amazing Night

WAKEFIELD QUARTERBACK HAS ANOTHER AMAZING NIGHT

RALEIGH– Wakefield quarterback Connor Mitch has put his name in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record Book before, but he had perhaps his best night ever on Friday.
Mitch threw nine touchdown passes in a 70-42 victory over Raleigh Broughton. That would eclipse the record of eight held by four passers, the most recent of which was Joe Cox of Charlotte Independence in 2004.
The touchdown passes covered distances of 14 yards, 44, 8, 43, 17, 69, 8, 4 and 13. Five of them went to receiver Jordan Fieulleteau.
According to the official statistics supplied by Wakefield, Mitch completed 37 of 57 passes for 667 yards, which would be the single game yardage record by a large margin.
With this verification of the marks, the NCHSAA will send along information for the National Federation for potential inclusion in the national records.
