Week 9 POTW Winners

Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media, and school administrators for their outstanding performance.

The OrthroCarolina Performers of the Week for week nine of NCHSAA competition go to Olivia Corcoran from Green High School and Isaac Cam Smith from North Stanley High School

Junior Olivia Corcoran won the 4A state singles championship in women's tennis, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 over Samantha Slowik from Jordan HS. Previously this season she won the Mideast region and SWAC conference championships. She is 21-0 for the season as a captain for Green Hope. Green hope is 16-0 on the season as a team. 

Senior Cam Smith dominated on the field Friday night as they defeated rival Albemarle High School. Smith played both of side of the ball extremely well! On offense he recorded, 237 yards on 36 carries for 3 touchdowns and 2 receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown.  On defense he added 6 tackles on the night.  Smith also got involved in special teams having 2 punt returns from 101 yards and a 87 yard TD return. 

Congratulations to Olivia Corcoran of Green Hope High and Cam Smith of North Stanly High School on an outstanding performance last week!!
