GREENSBORO— Page High School tennis coach Jason Allen has earned a prestigious honor.

He has been named the 2011 U.S. Professional Tennis Association Southern High School Coach of the Year.

The Southern region includes 10 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennis, Texas and the two Carolinas. Allen will be presented the award at the USPTA Southern convention later this month in Suwanee, Ga.

The world’s oldest and largest association of tennis teaching professionals, the USPTA was founded in 1927 and has more than 15,000 members.

Both Page teams, men and women, are perennially strong programs.
