GRAY’S CREEK COACH HITS MILESTONE
HOPE MILLS— Jeff Nance of Gray’s Creek High School in Cumberland County recently reached a coaching milestone.
According to the Fayetteville Observer, the veteran coach earned his 300th career coaching victory as a high school head baseball coach when his team defeated Overhills 9-2.
Nance, who is a graduate of Douglas Byrd High in Fayetteville, has been a head coach for 20 years. He coached at Byrd for 12 years but then moved to Gray’s Creek when the school opened in 2003.
Gray’s Creek is a 3-A school and a member of the Cape Fear Valley Conference.
