Jenkins Will Also Lead South Lenoir Football

DEEP RUN— Back in December, Tim Jenkins was named as the new baseball coach at South Lenoir High School. Now he will add head football coach to his duties.

Jenkins has been named to the post, according to a report in the Kinston Free Press, and has been approved by the Lenoir County Board of Education.

Jenkins came to South Lenoir after serving as the athletic director at Wallace-Rose Hill. He will replace Kevin Wilson as the football coach at South Lenoir, who had been at the helm for the last four years and is retiring from coaching but will continue to teach at the school.

Jenkins is just the 11th head football coach in South Lenoir history, according to the Kinston paper, but the sixth head coach in the last decade.
