CHAPEL HILL — Fans attending the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state basketball championships game being played at the Smith Center will have a great opportunity to see another attraction in Chapel Hill.
 
The Carolina Basketball Museum is a showcase of the great tradition of Tar Heel basketball and is being made available for fans of the NCHSAA championship. There is no charge to tour the museum, which will open at 9 am and will close at 6 pm on Saturday.
 
The museum is located in the Ernie Williamson building next to the Smith Center. It contains a great collection of memorabilia and displays about the history of Carolina basketball. Fans attending the NCHSAA finals can visit the museum prior to their team’s championship or after they leave the high school game during museum hours of operation.
 
The first game at the Smith Center tips off at noon and sends Chocowinity Southside against defending champion Bishop McGuinness of Kernersville for the 1-A women’s championship.  Four games are scheduled for the Smith Center and the other four will be played at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh.
