On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Kevin Parks of West Rowan carried the ball 24 times for 219 yards and three touchdowns to lead West Rowan to a 35-7 victory over West Craven in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 3-A state football championship game at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem.
