BURLINGTON— Superintendent Lillie Cox of the Alamance-Burlington School System has named two high school principals to their posts for the 2011-12 academic year.
According to the Burlington Times-News, Charlotte Holmes will be the principal at Graham and Joe Ferrell will assume those duties at Williams.
Holmes was an assistant principal at Graham from 2001 to 2005. Since 2005, she has been principal at the Alamance-Burlington Middle College. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has a master’s degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is studying toward a doctorate in education there.
Ferrell has been principal at Eastern Guilford Middle School since 2004 and was principal at Hunter Elementary School, also in Guilford County. In Person County, he was an assistant middle school principal and taught language arts and fifth grade. He graduated from Elon College with a degree in elementary education, earned a master’s degree in school administration from N.C. State University and is pursuing a doctorate in education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
