SEVENTY-FIRST PLAYER SCORES SEVEN GOALS IN GAME
FAYETTEVILLE– A Fayetteville women’s soccer player has added a performance listing to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record Book.
Last week Alyssa McCray of Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville scored seven goals in a 10-0 victory over Fayetteville Westover.
Seven other NCHSAA women’s soccer players have scored seven goals in a single game, most recently in May of 2004 when Paige Harrington of Albemarle scored seven in a win over Siler City Jordan-Matthews.
The single-game record is 10, held by Katie Tucker of Myers Park and set in 2001.
