John T. Hoggard High School’s women’s tennis head coach, Michael Bowen, won his 300th match last week with a 6-3 win against Greene Central.
Bowen has coached the women’s tennis team at Hoggard since the 2010 season and has an overall record of 148-57. He was the head coach of the men’s team as well from 2006-20017 and compiled a record of 152-46.
The 2023 season-opening win makes Bowen 300-102 all-time across men’s and women’s tennis.
Bowen won six Mideastern Conference titles with the men’s team and twice reached the 4A Eastern Finals in the dual-team playoffs. He has won four conference titles with the women’s team and saw Macy Morrison and Elizabeth Vollmin win the NCHSAA 4A doubles title at the 2021 Individual Championships.
