Austin Smith, Triangle Football Official passes away from battle with Leukemia

August 20, 1993 – July 26, 2023

STEM – Austin Taylor Smith, 29, made his heavenly ascension on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. He was born August 20, 1993, in Wake County to Dwight and Melody Smith. Austin worked as a Firefighter First Class with the Wake Forest Fire Department. To use the words of his fellow firefighters, Austin had a one-of-a-kind personality and a great work ethic, giving it one hundred percent and then some in everything that he did. His dedication was motivating and inspirational; touching the lives of so many in his time, he leaves that remarkable legacy to all those who had the opportunity to be impacted by the actions of this great man.

Austin is survived by his wife of three years, Lizzie Muller; his parents, Dwight and Melody Smith; his sister, Amber Smith; his paternal grandmother, Doris McDaniel; his maternal grandmother, Jane Saville; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Rachel Muller; his sister-in-law, Rebecca Muller and fiancé, Anthony Ramicone and many beloved aunts, uncles and extended family members.

A Celebration of Austin’s Life was held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 7600 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615.
