West Caldwell Names New Head Football Coach

         LENOIR—West Caldwell High School has named Chip English as its new head football coach, according to various media reports including the Hickory Daily Record.

         English comes to West Caldwell after serving as an assistant coach at A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis.

         He worked with quarterbacks and wide receivers on the varsity level and was head coach of the junior varsity squad.  He also coached for a year at Hickory Ridge.

         English is a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School and played collegiately at Greensboro College and Pikeville (Ky.). He will replace Kyle Dunn, who guided the West Caldwell program for the past two years.
