WAXHAW—Principal Tim Conner of Marvin Ridge High School has announced that Adam Haines has been named as the school’s new head men’s basketball coach, according to a press release from the school.

Haines has extensive experience in basketball, during his playing days he was named a senior All-Star for the Tri-State Athletic Conference. He then went to Clearwater Christian College where he was a two year starter and his team amassed an overall record of 76-37 during his four years in college.

From 1999-2002, Haines was head coach at Upper Bucks Christian School where he led it to an overall record of 40-15.  In 2004, he took the reins at Northside Christian Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida and rebuilt a team that finished with zero wins in 2004 to a respectable 12-13 record in 2006. Haines has been an assistant under Gosnell White at Marvin Ridge for seven years and over the last two years has taken over the JV basketball program.
