Central Academy Names New Head Football Coach

         MONROE– Central Academy of Technology and Arts High School has announced its new head football coach.

        Mrs. Kim Fisenne, principal, has announced that Phil Smith is the new head football coach, according to a press release from the school.

         Coach Smith is a graduate of Pfeiffer University, with a BA in social studies and history.  He is a certified teacher in social studies, exceptional children, and physical education. 

         The new Central Academy coach brings extensive experience in high school football in the state of North Carolina.  He served as head coach at North Stanly and has also been an assistant at Sun Valley, J.F. Webb, West Iredell, Richmond County, and Southern Alamance.

         Most recently Smith held the position of athletic director and assistant football coach at Southeast Guilford High School.  He resides in Stanly County with his wife Marjorie and his four children Brent, Bailey, Wes, and Alana.
