West Lincoln Softball Player Makes Record Book

LINCOLNTON—Kylee Leonhardt of West Lincoln High School has earned recognition in several categories in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association record book for softball.

Leonhardt enjoyed an outstanding senior season for West Lincoln, batting .602 to earn a performance listing for batting average, putting her in the top 20.  Her 50 hits on the season also made the single-season list in that department.

The West Lincoln standout drove in 56 runs on the year, and that places her among the leaders in the single-season RBI category. She is fourth, and the new single season leader is Taylor Wike of Alexander Central, who wound up with 64 after the Cougars won the state 4-A softball championship last weekend.

Both Leonhardt and teammate Katie Hively had six hits apiece in a big 28-3 victory for West Lincoln over West Caldwell on April 26 to earn a mention for hits in a single game.

Congratulations to Kylee Leonhardt and our thanks to head coach Tyler Sain for complete documentation of these marks.
