New Chapel Hill Volleyball Coach Has Extensive College Experience

CHAPEL HILL—A coach with 20 years of collegiate coaching experience will take over the helm of the Chapel Hill High School volleyball program.

Jody Brown, who served as the head coach at Florida Atlantic University from 1995 through the 2012 season, has been named the new head coach at Chapel Hill, according to various media reports including the Raleigh News and Observer and Durham Herald Sun.

Brown will take over for veteran coach Sherry Norris, who retired as the all-time leader in volleyball victories in NCHSAA history.

The new Chapel Hill High coach recorded an overall mark of 225-263 as FAU head coach, including an outstanding season in 2005 when the Owls finished 29-3, earning Brown Atlantic Sun Conference Coach-of-the-Year honors. He also has worked in the USA Volleyball development program and in Tasmania as part of the Australian development program.

He and his wife moved to Chapel Hill when she took a position at the University of North Carolina.
