MOORESVILLE—Mooresville High School has hired a new athletic director, according to a report in the Mooresville Tribune.
Kevin Wilson, who has served as athletic director and dean of students at North Mecklenburg, has been named to the post. He will take over for Barclay Marsh, who retired at the end of June after a 32-year career, all but of three of which were in the Mooresville system.
Wilson will also serve as an assistant principal at Mooresville. He is a graduate of California State University at Stanislaus and received his masters from Gardner-Webb University.
He had held the athletic director post at North Mecklenburg since 2009 and was the school’s Teacher of the Year three years prior to that.
Marsh had taken over as head football coach and athletic director at the school in 2003. He was the Blue Devils’ head football coach for six seasons until stepping down following the 2008 season to concentrate on his athletic director duties. He had been an assistant football coach for 18 years at Mooresville prior to becoming head coach and also spent three years as an assistant at Newton-Conover.
