LEDFORD PLAYER IS ADDED TO NCHSAA THREE-POINT RECORDS
LEDFORD—Emmalee Thomas, a former standout at Ledford High School, has been added to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association women’s basketball record book for three-point field goals.
Thomas, who played three seasons from 2010 to 2013, had 263 career three-pointers, good for eighth on the all-time list. Mary Hall McArver of Gastonia Forestview still has the career record of 303, established during her career from 1999 to 2003.
The 95 three-pointers Thomas hit as a junior in the 2011-12 season is good for sixth place on the all-time list, and her 94 threes the following season is right behind in seventh.
Her best individual performance in a single game was 10, which earned a spot on the performance listing in that category. She hit 10 of 13 from long range on December 11, 2012, when Ledford beat West Davidson 78-31.
The Ledford team also garnered three spots on the team listing for three-pointers in a game. Its best mark was 15, which is the third best mark for a team, on January 24, 2012 in a win over North Forsyth.
Our thanks to coach John Ralls for providing all of the documentation for the records.
