Rockingham County Names Derrick Minor As Head Football Coach

WENTWORTH–Rockingham County High School has named Derrick Minor as its new head football coach, according to media reports including HighSchoolOT.com.

Minor has been the head coach at Princeton High for the past three years and helped the Bulldogs become a 1-A power.  This year Princeton went to the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs and earned a school record 12 victories.  The previous year Princeton advanced to the second round and the Bulldogs went to the Eastern regional final in 2012.

Minor had previously been an assistant coach at Southeast Guilford, Southern Alamance and Graham before taking over the helm at Princeton. He had indicated to HighSchoolOT.com that he had family in the Rockingham County area that was certainly a consideration.
