During a break in the action in the Gray's Creek at Douglas Byrd girls' junior varsity game, official Christian McRae stood near midcourt at almost military attention.

          His posture was perfect, striped shirt, black pants and shoes neat and in order.

         His fellow official was at the baseline, looking on with a different perspective than the typical member of a crew. That's because the guy at the end of the court was Alphonzo McRae, Christian's father, veteran of 26 years calling basketball for the Southeastern Athletic Officials Association.
