New Apex Friendship High School Names First Football Coach

         APEX—Adam Sanders has been named the first head coach at the new Apex Friendship High School, according to a variety of media reports.

         The school will become a member of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association for the upcoming academic year, when it opens its door for the first time to freshmen and sophomores.

         Sanders has served as the offensive coordinator at Chapel Hill for the past two years. In all, he spent six seasons at the school, but left for one year to serve as an assistant at Holly Springs.

        Sanders, 28, is a Rock Hill, S.C., native who played collegiately at Furman University.
