Richmond’s Hoggard Headed To Edenton Holmes

EDENTON—Paul Hoggard, head football coach at Richmond Senior High School since 2007, is headed to Holmes High School in Edenton, according to numerous media reports.

Hoggard will take over for Jim Collins, who coached at Holmes for one season but is returning to Michigan, his home state. Holmes has become a strong 2-A football power in the last several years.

Hoggard is returning to his home area, as he is a native of nearby Bertie County and was a standout football player at East Carolina University.  He served as the head coach at West Caldwell for three years earlier in his career.

At Richmond, Hoggard’s teams put together a record of 100-40-1, including an NCHSAA 4-AA state championship in 2008.

Hoggard has also been serving on the NCHSAA Board of Directors.
