a quick question concerning rules, regulations and policies of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association
Q: What are some of the requirements for the school’s Emergency Action Plan?
A: Details may be found in the NCHSAA Handbook under rule 2.5.4(c). Each school should have a venue specific Emergency Action Plan (EAP) that follows the specifications outlined in the EAP guidelines on the NCHSAA website. This plan should be in writing, reviewed by an athletic trainer licensed in North Carolina, approved by the school principal, distributed to all appropriate personnel, posted conspicuously at all venues, and reviewed and rehearsed annually by all licensed athletic trainers, first responders, coaches, school nurses, athletic directors and volunteers for interscholastic athletic activities.
