Hickory Baseball Coach Craft Hits Milestone

 

       HICKORY– Hickory High School baseball coach David Craft has reached a coaching milestone, according to a release from the Hickory City Schools.

       The release reported from a story that appeared on the front page of the Hickory Daily Record.  Craft earned his 400th baseball coaching victory at the school on Tuesday night as the Red Tornadoes defeated Watauga by a score of 4-1 in a game played in Boone.

       Craft is in his 25th season at Hickory and has compiled a record of 400-236 in guiding the baseball program there.  He also coached at West Iredell for a couple of years before coming to Hickory and has an overall career mark of 420-255 in 27 seasons.

       Craft is a graduate of Hickory High School and was a three-sport performer for the Red Tornadoes, and his father also coached at Hickory for many years.
