WEEK 12 2023-24 ORTHOCAROLINA PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK

Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.

The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week 12 of NCHSAA competition are Rimiez Williams from Hertford County High School and Patrick Dion from Apex Friendship High School.

Williams, a junior wide receiver and cornerback for the Bears, scored five touchdowns including a fumble recovery for a touchdown in their second round win over Wallace-Rose Hill. Williams ended the night with more than 250 all-purpose yards.

Dion, a senior for the Patriots soccer team, scored a rebound goal and then provided an assist from a corner kick on the game-winning goal in Apex Friendship’s fourth round win. The Patriots beat the Chapel Hill Tigers 2-1 to advance to the 4A Regional Final.
