Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.
The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week 13 of NCHSAA competition are Andrew Attmore II from Dudley High School and Kaylee Carson from Independence High School.
Attmore, a senior quarterback, went 22-for-32 with eight touchdowns and 378 yards on Friday night in the Panthers’ 50-28 win over Robinson. Dudley advanced to the fourth round where they will travel to 3A West No. 1 Seed Crest this week.
Carson, a senior guard, played in her first basketball game in 653 days after recovering from an ACL injury. The 2021-22 SW4A Conference Player of the Year made her return with 18 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals in a 81-36 win over West Cabarrus.
