CHINA GROVE—Daniel Yow has been named the new head football coach at South Rowan High School, according to media reports including the Salisbury Post.
He will replace Jason Rollins, who resigned from the position in January.
The 30-year-old Yow is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School who played college football at Catawba. His previous football coaching experience includes three seasons as an assistant at Salisbury and then three seasons at Hickory Ridge, where he was also head track and head wrestling coach and served as defensive coordinator for two years on the football staff.
South Rowan was 3-8 a year ago and will be looking for its second winning season in the last 12 years.
