WINSTON-SALEM—Veteran baseball coach Jim Hyatt has announced his retirement from teaching and coaching, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
He has been the head baseball coach at East Forsyth for the last past two years.
Hyatt, with 23 years as a head coach and close to 500 coaching victories, led East Forsyth to a great run this spring and a 24-5 record that ended with a loss to Matthews David Butler in the fourth round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 4-A baseball playoffs.
The 55-year old Hyatt noted that he had 30 years of teaching in North Carolina and that he might be interested in coaching at a private school or out of state.
