Southern Alamance Basketball Coach Resigns

BURLINGTON– Marty Parrish has resigned as the head men’s basketball coach at Southern Alamance High School, according to a report in the Burlington Times-News.

Parrish coached only one season at Southern Alamance but guided the team into the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state playoffs for the first time in more than a decade.

Parrish came to Southern Alamance after coaching at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, an NCAA Division III school. Before that, Parrish had been the head coach at Rockingham Community College, but the school folded its basketball program.

The former Southern Alamance coach noted in the Burlington paper that he did not have a job lined up but had discussions both at the high school and collegiate levels.
