BURGAW–Bob Via has been named the new head football coach at Pender High School, according to a report in the Wilmington Star-News and a posting on the Pender High School athletics web site.

     Via was an assistant coach at Ashley High School last year. Before that, he worked 28 years in Guilford County, including serving as head coach at Greensboro Page in the early 2000s.

     He takes over for Tony Hudson, who resigned from the job in May after four years at the helm.
