Heil To Take Over Football Program at Fairmont

FAIRMONT—Mark Heil has been named as the head football coach at Fairmont High School, according to a report in The Robesonian.

Heil replaces Randy Ragland, who left Fairmont to take over the reins of the football program at Middle Creek in Wake County.

Heil had served as the head coach at Purnell Swett for many years but resigned from that position last December.  He then accepted a position to serve as defensive coordinator at St. Pauls before the opening at Fairmont occurred.

As head coach at Swett, Heil posted an 89-70 mark in 14 seasons and he has been a head coach for 26 years.
