MaxPreps has recognized several North Carolina High School Athletic Association softball teams for great 2015 seasons, including naming Enka High School as the MaxPreps Medium Schools Team of the Year.

       Enka posted a 28-0 record and won the NCHSAA state 3-A championship. The Sugar Jets outscored its opposition 66-10 during postseason play en route to their perfect season.

       Enka catcher Jordan Harriswho has signed with Appalachian State, was named the Most Valuable Player of the state championship series.  And the team should be excellent next year as well, with only two seniors on the team, including Harris.  Both primary pitchers return, including Courtney Pearson, who went 15-0, and Katie Grace Olinger, who posted a 14-0 record.

       Enka finished the season ranked 22nd in the MaxPreps final Top 50 national high school softball rankings.   Greenville’s D.H. Conley, which won the NCHSAA 4-A title, was ranked 36th and perennial North Carolina 4-A power Alexander Central wound up 47th.
